In the last 24 hours, heavy rains have been recorded in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and eastern Madhya Pradesh; There has been torrential rains in areas like Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Mana, Nagpur, Amravati, Gondia, Chandrapur, Brahmapuri, Chhindwara, Damoh, Pachmarhi, Naugaon, Betul and Malanjkhand. Till July 10, there is a forecast of strong rains in these areas. Actually, there is a low pressure area in West Bengal. This has strengthened heavy rain activities. This system will gradually move towards Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Eastern Madhya Pradesh in the west. Later it will become weak, but its cyclonic influence will reach West Madhya Pradesh and Eastern Rajasthan. During this time, there has been a possibility of heavy rains throughout the week. Meteorologists have feared flood -like situation in the affected areas.
Torrential rain in Kolkata
The monsoon started in Kolkata on 16 June 2025 this year, which was much late than normal. After this, the city has received only 20 to 30 mm of minor rains so far, but from July 6, the weather patterns started changing, when a low pressure area developed in West Bengal. After this, the atmosphere in the city became moist and stormy. On July 7, Kolkata and its suburbs saw the first monsoon torrential rains of this season, which is still going on. It has been expected to be more intensified. Actually, there is a low pressure area in West Bengal, which is getting support for a well -made cyclonic circulation. A long monsoon trough originating from the northern plains is passing through the center of this low pressure area. Due to the presence of this trough, rain activity in Kolkata and its surrounding areas has increased further.
