Actress Kajol’s mythological horror film ‘Maa’ has knocked in theaters. Directed by Vishal Furia, the film has an important role in Ronit Roy, Indranil Sengupta and Kherin Sharma in addition to Kajol. The length of this film is 2 hours and 15 minutes. Dainik Bhaskar has rated the film a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

What is the story of the film?

The story of the film starts from the mother’s Mamta and ends at the power of Goddess Kali. This is the story of Ambi (Kajol), who lives in Kolkata with her husband Shubhankar (Indranil Sengupta) and daughter Shweta (Kherin Sharma). Shubhankar has to go to his ancestral village Chandrapur, where his father has died. He decides to sell his mansion ‘Rajbari’, but he dies on the way.

Now Ambi has to come to the same village with his daughter Shweta, where fear, mystery and an old monster is hiding in every corner. Will Ambi be able to save his daughter? Will she recognize the goddess Shakti hidden in herself? The roots of the film are in the bloodbie slaughter story of Adipuran, where a mother finally ends the monster by taking the form of Kali.

How is the acting of Starcast?

Kajol has done the most courageous and serious acting of his career so far. He has fulfilled the fear, anger, sorrow and courage of a mother. There is also fear in his eyes and the glow of Goddess Shakti.

Kherin Sharma has acted very well at a young age, while Ronit Roy sarpanch becomes the face of mystery and doubt as Joydev. Indranil Sengupta also leaves an impact in a small role. The acting of co -actors also makes the film solid.

How is the film direction and technical side?

Vishal Furia is directed both original and emotional. He has created fear not with screams, but with silence and symbols. The cinematography of the film is amazing. The fog covered villages, burnt walls, old mansion and forest, together create atmosphere. VFX and production designs are strong, but do not look over.

The film seems estimated in some parts, but still holds the audience. Especially the last 30 minutes, like the modern form of the story of Goddess Kali, appear emotional and fierce.

How is the music of the film?

The song ‘Hamanwa’ of the film is sweet and gives emotional engagement. But the life of the film is the song ‘Kali Shaktipat’, which is not a puja, but experience. The background score is fantastic, which scares some place, then makes some place stand. Fear is not just shown, but has been felt.

Final Wordict, see or not?

It is not just a horror film, but a conversion of mother’s love and power. It has mythology, emotion and a new face of modern fear. Kajol’s strong acting and Vishal Furia’s plot makes this film special. This is the story of defeating fear of reverence and courage rather than fear.
