In a conversation with Local18, Sant Ram Jaiswal said that I was born on 8 December 1917 in Amritsar. Was there before independence. After that he was admitted to the army. Was fought with Pakistan twice. Companions like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad, Rajguru were with us. We all fought together for the independence of the country. We also had an important role in independence. He told that in 1980 he retired from the army. After retirement, he started working in a cloth mill in Faridabad. After 1980, I worked in a cloth mill, so that life continued. He says that I had a son and died in an accident. Wife is no longer in this world. Now I have no one. He said that from today old age home is my home.
He himself stopped the army pension. Today they have returned to us again. We have told them that now there is no need to go anywhere, stay with us in the old age home. This is your home. Anyone should become emotional after hearing the story of this brave son of 107 years. The hands that fought to liberate the country, are forced to live life alone today. Local18 salutes every elder who dedicated the most precious age of his life to the country.
