Toilet scam in Sambhal, Principal and Secretary Harape 4 Locked 87 thousand, DM sent notice

Sambhal: A big scam has come out from village Sisaonadanda under Rajpura block of the district. Where government money was misused with the connivance of village head and secretary. Also, in the name of construction of toilets, an amount of about four lakh Satasi thousand rupees (₹ 4,87,000) was withdrawn, but not a single toilet was built on the ground.

When the matter reached the higher officials on the complaint of the villagers, the District Officer (DM) took immediate cognizance and ordered an inquiry. Initial investigation revealed that the said amount was withdrawn from the account of the Gram Panchayat, but it was not used in any way to construct toilets. Construction work has been shown complete on paper, but in reality the people of the village are still forced to defecate in the open.

As soon as the scam was confirmed in the investigation, DM Dr. Rajendra Pansia has issued a show cause notice to the Principal and Secretary and warned of further action. Along with this, an explanation has also been sought from the concerned authorities as to how such a large amount was paid without verification.

There is a lot of resentment among the people of the village about this scam. Villagers say that strict action should be taken against those who have been money for the rights of the poor. The administration has now started a detailed investigation into the entire matter.
